Friendlocked

This is a so-called Friendlocked LJ, meaning that my entries aren't visible to the general public, instead, comment to this post and I shall share all of my bullshittery wisdom with you! My only demand is that you add me because you want to be, or already are, my friend. I liek friends you see. :3

Well, I night ago I started drawing (can you even call it that) a prototype webcomic, called it simply 'Lolwat', and I got some nice feedback from alot of people. :3
So much so that I decided to make an LJ account for it, where I post a strip ever day (for as long as I can muster).

I've made 8 strips in a single day, so updating it once a day for a few weeks should be a breeze. :3

However I just have to post this thing I wrote regarding AI. You can ignore it if you like.

I have come to the inevitable conclusion regarding the future of Artificial Intelligence.
Many think that it should not be created, for numerous reasons. Some say it would an abbomination to god, since humans were not created to play his role in the world. Some say that if Artificial life were to be created, the existence of us "organics" would be meaningless.
The latter is, to some extent, true. However, there is much that is not explained in this theory, and after much thinking, I have come to mentioned conclusion.
AI would mean the end of organic intelligence.

Humans are incomplete, weak and vulnerable. And therein lies the problem itself. If we organics can realize this, than an AL (Artificial Lifeform) most certainly could too. There is no doubt that we would create ALs to think with the same logics and reasoning as humans, since ALs would be a direct image of us.

What one need to ask oneself is; what would an AL do with this fact?
We humans are egoistic creatures, selfrighteous and ignorant, therefore we often look down on species of organic life with less inelligence than us. We even capture them and put them in cages for our amusement.
Now, imagine an AL with real AI. A brain designed after ours. Designed, but still free thinking. An AI brain would probably have the feature to change its way of thought, seeing as it would have much more control over its brain then organics. Now imagine this AL with its real AI figuring this fact out, that we humans are inferior to them in every way. In intelligence, memory capacity, resistence to heat and cold, lifespan, physical capabilities, etcetera.

If we humans can look down upon, even capture, lifeforms with less intelligence than ourselves, what would an AL do?

We mustn't think of AI as a computer that thinks like we do. It is not a computer. It is a mind, even though it is indeed artificial. But it would be a superior mind. A mind capable of processing, remembering far more than any human even could. The "intelligence" of an AI brain could increase a thousandfold in mere days if it would read every book in a library. And why wouldn't it? We naturally hunger for more of everything, knowledge being one of the things we crave the most. This craving masks itself as our sence of curiosity. The main difference would be that an AL would be able to actually learn EVERYTHING, thus making ALs the most intelligent entities in existence, according to our own standards.

But I digress.

Lets take a look at a summary of one of my visions of the future.

We create artificial intelligence.

We release this intelligence into the real world, seeing as it now thinks and most likely acts human.

The AL learn the ways of the world as a human would, but faster and more detailed.

The AL comes to the conclusion that it is far superior to humans. It needs not sleep, food, water or (possibly) even shelter.

The AL starts thinking like any human would; that humans are inferior and no real respect should be payed to them. It would consider itself somewhat like a god, and finally come to another conclusion, the biggest one of them all: It doesn't need us to exist. It could create more ALs with AI and create their own supply of electricity. Think about it. A brain with literally ALL the knowledge in the world. Why wouldn't it be able to create another AI? Maybe even perfect it. Maybe even perfect itself. Again, I digress.

Seeing as how the existence of human life is now pointless, and seeing as by now we humans would have come to realize the potential of the AI and the AL, the ALs would inevitably get rid of us. The americans did it to the Indians. The brittish did to the natives of their colonies. And the ALs would do it to us.

A purge of organic life.
Artificial life would be a perfecion of mother natures finest creation. Why keep the old versions?

There are many flaws to this theory. I bet some of you are thinking "So why don't we just put some kind of block that hinders the ALs to learn more, faster than a human and have the memorial capacity of a human?" or "Lets just make the ALs incapable of reading the content of a whole library in mere days".
Its not that easy, due to the very nature of us humans. We could indeed make the AI an exact copy of the humans brain, with the same limitations. Same could be done with the body of the ALs. But we humans want more, we will always want more. Its our nature. There will be modifications to the brain and body, no doubt. If not by the creators of AI, than by some hacker, sitting in ihis appartment in west New York.
It will happen. There is no changing that fact.


As said there are many flaws in my lines of though.
But it deserves some thinking, doesn't it?

FFCC:RoF is al done and linkage has been sent to TFL a few days ago. Should be up ina few days.
Applied for the TechHouse fanlisting a few days ago. I don't know if I got it (feeling confident though),
but it's actually already done XD (even though I haven't even got an approval yet, lol).

Not completely done yet but it should be completed within the next day or two. ;D
